Inspired by a vision and a calling

In March 2020, when the Covid-19 lockdown struck, our founder Praful Bhatt, already running the busy Santosh Day Care Centre for Vulnerable People, recognised the urgent need to support those left vulnerable by the pandemic.

Inspired by a vision and a calling, he initiated the Meals on Wheels service, providing freshly cooked meals to individuals living alone and in need of support. What began as a small endeavor quickly gained momentum, thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and staff.

Today, Jalaram Sadavrat Centre continues to thrive, serving an average of 75 meals per day, Monday to Saturday, every week. Our center has been recognized for its outstanding contributions, including invitations to the Queen’s Jubilee Garden Tea Party and the coronation of King Charles III.

With the support of our donors, volunteers, and staff, we are expanding our services and activities to meet the diverse needs of our community.
